Learning shouldn’t stop after college, but it’s hard for me to remember that sometimes. I got into a years long rut for awhile but now I’m beginning to take advantage of all the great online courses for digital nomads.
There’s seriously something out there for everyone these days, from yoga, to photography, to interviewing and everything in between.
If you’re ready to learn something new (or just brush up on some old skills) check out these ten super helpful online courses for digital nomads!
1. The Complete Job, Interview, Resume/LinkedIn & Network Guide
I actually just brought this course yesterday and have already started it.
I’ve been working in the freelance world for almost three years and I’m ready to move on – but landing a full-time remote job has not been easy. I’ve gotten a few interviews so far, but nothing beyond that.
So, I decided it was time to stop being nervous and hoping for a good interview and actually learn the skills I need to slay them every time.
If you’ve been out of the office for a few years, this is a great way to brush up on your people skills, improve your resume, and land that remote job you’ve been dreaming of.
2. Yoga Courses
Life on the road is hard sometimes.
Dan and I live out of small suitcases and carry almost nothing with us when we travel. So, hobbies like cooking or crafts are almost impossible to keep up.
Yoga is a great alternative option for digital nomads. It requires nothing and you can practice in the comfort of your own home Airbnb apartment. There is yoga for stress, yoga for powerlifting, the yoga of sound (?) and sooo much more to explore!
3. Self-defense Courses
I admit I should really take a self-defense class.
I’ve always wanted to but I’m never in one place long enough to complete a course. Now, its pretty cool that I can take it online instead! I’m sure Dan won’t mind being my test subject if I buy one 🙂
Online self-defense courses are great for digital nomads, female travelers, and I guess just about everyone else as well – it never hurts to be prepared.
4. Meditation Courses
Meditation classes are fantastic online courses for digital nomads.
I struggle with anxious thoughts sometimes, which I think are partially from spending so much time in front of a screen instead of interacting with others. The lack of a nearby social support system doesn’t help much either.
Meditation helps me escape the whirlwind of thoughts in my head and remember to be present in the moment. I’m also learning the tough skill of observing my thoughts without reacting to them.
I haven’t taken the plunge into a full meditation course yet, but I’m definitely considering it.
5. Life Coaching Certificate Course
If you’re building your own blog or online business, one common way to monetize is by coaching clients in your area of expertise.
You can create and sell different coaching packages via Skype, email, or phone calls, so it’s a great option for digital nomads. Whatever field you’re in, a life coach certification will make your offer stand out from the competition.
6. iPhone Photography – Take Professional Photos on your iPhone
iPhones are seriously creating insane photos these days. I take almost all my pictures on my iPhone because it’s so much easier to carry it instead of a huge Canon camera on a hike or day out in the city.
This course will teach you how to use light, composition, settings, and more on your iPhone to improve your photography. If you’re ready to up your Instagram game and make your friends hella jealous of your travels, this is the online course for you.
7. Content Marketing Masterclass: Create Content That Sells
Although I do truly hate the word ‘masterclass’ this still looks like one of the best online courses for digital nomads.
Sure, you can join the hordes over at Instagram to try and grow your blog via social media, but content marketing is a thousand times easier and more fun (in my humble opinion at least).
Slight North had almost 10k unique visitors last month and most of them were from organic traffic. This free traffic comes from content marketing, aka the practice of writing great articles and using SEO to rank in the top spots on Google.
If you want to learn how to do the same on your own blog, this course is for you.
8. Affiliate Marketing Courses
Digital nomads love to talk about passive income.
Passive income is the best way to earn the freedom to truly travel anywhere in the world (without internet speed or timezone restrictions) and affiliate marketing is a great way to generate it.
There are tons of affiliate marketing courses on Udemy and once you learn how to make affiliate sales, the course will pay for itself!
9. The 2019 YouTube Masterclass – Complete Guide to YouTube Success
The stats about video these days are insane. Did you know that people watch five billion YouTube videos every single day? And, in 2019, 80% of all internet content will be consumed as videos!
If you want to jump on the bandwagon, this YouTube Masterclass can help you learn how to gain initial viewers, understand analytics, monetize your videos, and everything else you need to know to launch a successful YouTube channel for your brand.
10. Memory Courses
Browsing this section is actually kind of overwhelming – there are so many things I didn’t know that I didn’t know!
Basically, these memory courses are designed to help you retrain your brain with new methods and tools to improve memory.
The theory is basically that you don’t have to be born with a good memory, you can learn it, and these courses will teach you how. Dan is currently taking one of these classes and the little tidbits he shares with me about it are really interesting.
Beyond just the memory courses you can also find classes on personal productivity, time management, focus mastery and plenty of other topics that will directly impact your work as a digital nomad.
