With so many to choose from, it can be hard to nail down the best vineyard in Queretaro for a romantic getaway. But, I think the Maria y Bernardo Hotel and Vineyard deserve the top spot.
This tiny winery in Queretaro is family owned and has the most romantic bungalows onsite to spend a peaceful night on the property. WHen Dan and I were looking to splurge on a romantic weekend away for Valentine’s Day in Queretaro, it only took one glance at the photos of Maria y Bernardo to know it was the one.
If you want a winery, romantic getaway, and spa experience all in one place, Maria y Bernardo is the best vineyard in Queretaro – and this is everything you need to know to go!
Our thermal pool in the Tempranillo Bungalow and my absolute favorite part of our stay!
Although Maria y Bernardo has four bungalows on the property, I strongly recommend booking the Tempranillo Bungalow because it has a private thermal pool.
There’s a shared outdoor pool on the vineyard property for all of the guests, but the Tempranillo room has a private, heated, thermal pool inside the suite which takes it to the next level.
I loved it because the pool had a view of the garden so it felt like I was outside while still being super secluded. It was also cool because it’s heated from the stone tiles around it, so the pool is environmentally friendly and there was no need to empty and refill it over and over again to keep it hot.
Gotta love a good door
Our room also had bottles of wine and champagne set out for us and we definitely popped the champagne as soon as we arrived (and it was delicious).
Finally, the bed was comfortable and the giant windows gave off the perfect ambiance for a super relaxing weekend of chilling, eating, drinking, and spending quality time together. There’s also shared space in the main house on the vineyard property with a dining room, fireplace, wine cellar, porch, pool, lake, and more.
Maria y Bernardo is so beautiful that it even made our list of the top10 Instagram spots in Queretaro!

The Food and Wine
One of my favorite parts about our stay at Maria y Bernardo was the casual and cozy dining experience. Instead of eating in a busy hotel, the dining room at Maria y Bernardo felt more like a home-cooked dinner with family.
The food was served at this amazing giant wooden table and even better? Our breakfast was included in the stay. We also chose to add dinner to our stay for an additional 320 mxn / 14 usd per person (with a bottle of their white wine for another 430 mxn / 19 usd as well, of course.)
Everything was delicious, and our meal was topped off with the owners taking us downstairs to their wine cellar for an impromptu (and slightly tipsy) private tour.

Our overall experience
Dan and I had such a romantic and memorable Valentine’s Day in Queretaro, and it was all thanks to the Maria y Bernardo Vineyard!
Even though it’s only a quick 20-minute Uber ride from the Queretaro city center, I felt like I totally left the stresses and worries of the real world behind for the weekend. It has the charm and the warm touches of a family-owned business that you can tell truly cares about the details.
Waking up for a sunrise soak in our hot private thermal pool was such a peaceful and relaxing experience that Dan and I still talk about it regularly.
With our phones off in the quiet morning, steam rising off the pool, and pink skies outside the window, I felt so content that I’m even feeling relaxed just reminiscing and writing about it now!
If you’re looking for a weekend getaway or a romantic escape, Maria y Bernardo is absolutely one of the best vineyards in Queretaro to find that quality time you’re looking for. Experience Queretaro’s famous wine region in a unique way and book a night in the Tempranillo Bungalow at Maria y Bernardo Vineyards – I promise you won’t regret it!!
Ready to go?
While of course I recommend the Tempranillo Bungalow at Maria y Bernardo, there are also tons of unique stays on Airbnb – like this downtown duplex or this home with a private pool – for a longer trip to Queretaro.
After you check them out, explore more food, cultural, and outdoors experiences in the city to round out your itinerary (or, book a multi-day Mexico tour to finish your travel planning in one click!).
